This policy applies to visitors to our website, prospective and current institutional customers, students whose data is processed through an institutional deployment, and recruiters using the platform. Where an institution has engaged us to process student data, that institution's own privacy notice to its students governs alongside this policy, and the institution acts as the data controller for that data.

3. Information We Collect

Account and contact information: name, work email, institution or company name, role, and mobile number, collected when you contact us, request a demo, or are provisioned an account.

Platform usage data: readiness scores, cohort analytics, skill assessments, and related records generated through use of the Service, typically supplied or generated on behalf of an institution.

Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and usage logs collected automatically to operate and secure the Service.

4. How We Use Information

We use collected information to: provide, maintain, and improve the Service; respond to inquiries and demo requests; generate readiness scoring and analytics for institutional customers; communicate service updates and security notices; and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of a contract with an institution or customer; our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service; consent, where you have given it (for example, submitting the contact form); and compliance with legal obligations.

We share information with: service providers who help us operate the Service (such as hosting and communication tools), under contractual confidentiality obligations; the institution that provisioned your account, where applicable; and regulators or authorities where required by law.

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by our agreement with the relevant institution and applicable law. Institutional data is generally deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period after an institutional agreement ends, per the terms of that agreement.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No system is completely secure, and we encourage you to use strong, unique credentials and to report any suspected security issue to support@skillmetrics.org.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. If your data was submitted to us by an institution, you may need to route requests through that institution in the first instance. Skill Metrics serves institutions in multiple regions, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. Where personal data is transferred across borders, we use appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable data protection law.
